Drum Cafe Proposal
Prepared by Immaculate Online, August 2026

Rebuilding drumcafe.ca to be found, not just read.

You told us the current site is too verbose and needs to work harder for search. This proposal covers what we found researching your competitors, what we'd change about the current design system, and five real directions for the new homepage.

What You Asked For

Two objectives, in your words

01

SEO competitor analysis & audit

Understand who's actually ranking for team building searches in your markets, and which keywords the current site is missing.

02

Re-imagine the site around those keywords

Use what the research surfaces to rebuild the homepage: shorter, more scannable, and structured around what people are actually searching for.

Objective 1

SEO Research & Competitor Audit

We researched five competitors across two fronts: national team-building generalists and direct drum-circle specialists. We pulled real facts from each site rather than guessing.

CompetitorTypeWhat they do that drumcafe.ca doesn't
Outback Team BuildingGeneralistDedicated landing page per Canadian city, stacked with local client names and neighbourhood keywords.
TeamlandGeneralist"86+ Best Activities in Winnipeg in 2026," using a count and year in the title for freshness and CTR.
TeamBondingGeneralist w/ drumming programConcise spec-block page structure: the model for fixing the verbosity complaint.
Circles of RhythmDirect drum-circle specialistPublishes real pricing ($2,500–$4,500), long-tail "drum circle Calgary" keyword stacking, credentialed facilitator bio.
DiversoQuebec generalist (French)French-language content and city-stacked Quebec titles, addressing a market drumcafe.ca doesn't reach in French at all.
Gaps found on the current site Keyword architecture to build around
Primary"drum circle / drumming team building [city]," needs its own page per major market
Secondary"corporate team building [city/province]," the broader net that competes with generalists
Long-tail / FAQ"how does a drum circle team building event work", "drum circle team building cost," directly answerable in an FAQ block
French (Quebec)"team building corporatif Montréal/Québec", "cercle de tambours entreprise"

✓ Worth keeping

  • Red as a reserved action color: already a recognizable Drum Cafe signal on the CTA and active states
  • The three-service structure (Team Building / Event Entertainment / School Programs) already maps cleanly to search intent
  • Fortune 500 client roster as social proof, a scale no drum-circle competitor can claim
  • Square, confident geometry: a clear, ownable shape language if used deliberately

✕ Worth changing

  • 22px base body text is unusually large: drop to 16–18px so FAQ and long-form SEO content stays readable at length
  • No FAQ pattern anywhere; every direction below adds one
  • No location pages; the homepage should point toward dedicated city pages, not try to rank alone
  • Essay-style copy blocks, replaced with scannable cards and short paragraphs throughout
Objective 2

Five Homepage Directions

Same content in every version: real copy, the priority markets, the three services, and the FAQ block the competitor audit flagged as missing. Each is pushed through a different visual personality. Click through to view any of them as a full working page.

CONCEPT 01

Craft Editorial

Cream, rust and burnt-orange. Bold condensed slab type, radial ring texture. Warm, crafted, festival energy.

View Homepage →
CONCEPT 02

Rhythm Lab

Near-black, minimal, technical. Monospace type, corner-bracket framing, a waveform motif. Most differentiated from every competitor.

View Homepage →
CONCEPT 03

High Energy

Dark, bold, condensed uppercase. Closest to the current site's own voice: same energy, none of the essay copy.

View Homepage →
CONCEPT 04

Human Story

Photo-led, warm duotone, rounded editorial type. The most emotional direction. Needs real event photography to land.

View Homepage →
CONCEPT 05

Corporate Trust

Cream, elegant serif, centered and symmetric. Mirrors your three-pillar structure almost exactly. Safest for HR/procurement buyers.

Where this goes next

Pick a direction, or pull pieces from more than one, and here's how we'd move from concept to live site.

01

Lock a direction (or hybrid) and source real event photography where the concept calls for it.

02

Build dedicated city landing pages for Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal on the winning direction.

03

Add FAQ schema, French content for Quebec, and confirm real pricing bands to publish.
